The Media Cube provides affordable commercial office space specifically aimed at young companies aspiring to work within Europe’s expanding digital media market. The projects also aims to provide a new entrance and public reference point for IADT forming the start of the campus re- alignment with the new entrance and access road.
The building takes the form of a cube, approx 16.6m in width, height and depth. The accommodation is organised around a central core. The public aspects of the building, namely gallery, presentation areas and embryo unit, are linked together to form a ‘shop window’ to the corner of the building. It is envisaged that there will be interaction between these spaces, with display changing during the year to highlight events both with the centre and the campus. At roof level, there is an outdoor projection display area, which again has the possibility of varying according to events.
