Founded in 1607, The Irish College, originally a seminary, is now home to the Louvain Institute for Ireland in Europe. Under the joint patronage of the governments of Ireland and Northern Ireland, The project consists of the complete restoration and refurbishment of the existing historic fabric of the Irish College for Europe in Leuven,Belgium and the sensitive integration of new buildings and interventions. This incorporates the conversion of the church to a 200-seater multi-purpose auditorium; renovation and upgrading of the existing conference block; remodelling and refurbishment of the entrance foyer and reception area, dining room and the banquet room and bar; upgrading of the existing bedrooms and the provision of additional bedrooms in a new block.
